time really does fly...how did it get to be november already?!

hmmm, so since my return from canada, i suppose i've had two good touristy trips :-)  that said, i need to get back to blogging once a month as i've been more than slack this year!!

at the start of october, the gent and i spent a weekend in sydney.  though i can't say we did a whole heck of a lot of from a touristy perspective, i had a fabulous time!!  friday night saw us having a nice romantic dinner in darling harbour and a wander around the harbour.  the weather was perfect for an evening stroll and it was delightful to have someone with which to share it!!  saturday morning, we collected a hire car and headed up to the blue mountains for the day!!  it was a rainy, grey, foggy day and truly, we arrived at one lookout and could barely see more than 2m in front of us!!  we'll have to go back at some point in the future to actually see the mountains!!  that said, we managed to eat our way around the little settlements, munching on handmade chocolates, fresh made sandwiches and soups, lollies and other delights!!  we headed back to sydney, had dinner and then went out for a night on the town!!  (he's a huge dancing fiend!!)  sunday, we had a delicious brunch at a random cafe and then passed the day frivolously relaxing, taking pics and eating ice cream....  it's no wonder i gain weight while i'm on holidays!!

more recently, we headed off on a camping expedition (it's finally getting warm enough to camp!!) in gippsland with some friends.  it was a long drive friday night with a treacherous descent into the valley where we camped for the weekend, next to a flowing river.  blissful!!  we arrived in a little car (a mini or something similar) and everyone else at the campground had these massive 4WD trucks!!  i'd suggest they were the smarter campers ;-D  we pitched my tent and snuggled in for the night.  on saturday, we did a bit of hiking, had a picnic lunch and checked out the thomson dam (melbourne's largest and youngest water reservoir a mere 3hrs drive from the city!!) and then headed back to the campground for an afternoon snooze!!  we spend the evening dining in front of a fire and toasting marshmallows!!  absolutely perfect ;-D sunday, we had lunch in a nearby small town with a friend of mine and her partner and bunny hopped back to melbourne stopping in random spots and wineries.  all up, a lovely weekend away ;-D

in addition to my little trips, i've been interstate for work which allowed me to see some more of small town new south wales.  i've also been to my first grown up costume party (i dressed as bat girl and looked fabulous!!), attended my first aussie wedding, had a couple of birthday dinners, a housewarming and just some regular social stuff!!  things have been super busy and will likely only get crazier as we approach the silly season!!

big hugs to everyone!
